Poll Everywhere is a free application for interactive audience participation. Integrate Poll Everywhere slides into your PowerPoint presentation to embed questions and surveys.

The poll that is embedded within the presentation or web page will update in real time.”

How to create Poll Everywhere questions

Open and login to Poll Everywhere (or create a free account). Click the red Create button to create your activities (questions).

• Choose the type of activity (Multiple choice, etc.) and type the questions and possible answers.
• Detailed directions to Create an Activity (questions) are here.
• Note: If you create a survey, the questions in the survey will show in PowerPoint as one slide. If you create a survey but want the questions on different slides, hover over the title of the survey in your poll and choose Convert to Group.

How to add your questions to a PowerPoint

1. To generate PowerPoint slides that can be added to or dragged into existing presentations, you need to be logged into either the Poll Everywhere Add-In or the Poll Everywhere App.
   • Method 1: Poll Everywhere Add-In
     • Go to a PowerPoint menu, click on Insert > Add-Ins > Get Add-Ins. Type Pollev in the search box. Install Poll Everywhere Add-In.
     • A PowerPoint slide will open with a login window for your Add-In. Log in. Make sure you log into this PollEv Presenter Add-in before you present. The add-in activates your polls within PowerPoint or Keynote.
   • Method 2: Poll Everywhere Mac App
     • Download and login to the Poll Everywhere app – download instructions here.
     • Slides can be added from the Mac App, but just ignore.
2. The next step is to Go to your My Polls page online and check the boxes next to the polls or groups of polls you want to use.
3. Now click Download > Download Slides at the top of the page.
4. Open your downloads and find the presentation.pptx file. Right-click to open the download with either PowerPoint or Keynote.
5. A PowerPont will open with your questions as placeholder slides, see below:
6. The placeholder slides can be rearranged, dragged to another presentation, or additional regular presentation slides can be added.
7. Please note: The questions in your PowerPoint are screenshots of the question, with the written question in the presenter notes. Do not delete these! The question will appear correctly in presentation mode.

• Quick directions
  • Activities (questions) are activated and displayed from PowerPoint in Presentation Mode. Select Slide Show > Play from Start or Current Slide.
  • When the Poll Everywhere Activity slide is presented, it will be unlocked and ready to receive responses. Navigating away from the slide will close responses.
  • The Audience can respond via website or text. When the activity is presented on the screen, the question will appear at the top, and underneath are ways to respond. An example is below:
